Zion

Over Memorial Day Weekend, well technically it was Sunday through Tuesday, we travelled with 8 of our nearest and dearest to Zion National Park in Southern Utah. We rented an amazing cabin and settled in for a few days of outdoor adventures amongst the beautiful mountains and canyons of the park.

Since we are all super involved at GP, we headed up Sunday after service. Sunday night was spent hanging out, enjoying a delicious dinner and preping for Monday's adventures.

On Monday, Nathan and most of the group went on a canyoneering trip through Pine Creek. Canyoneering is a combination of repelling, hiking and climbing...through a canyon. Pine Creek is a pretty technical trip and minus a few minor freakouts they had a great time. My friend Brooke and I hung out at the cabin with the babies - relaxing and enjoying not being in Vegas. Later in the afternoon we took the boys to check out the breathtaking views of the park. I know they won't remember it, but it is an absolutely gorgeous place and we have the pictures to remind them that they were there.

Tuesday we spent a leisurely morning at the cabin and then went on a hike to the Emerald Pools where we enjoyed a picnic lunch and almost lost A2. *Things to remember - small trails- lots of people - easy to get seperated - trails split - no cell phone reception* It was a bit nerve racking for a while there.

The views can't be described. I tried to catch some of them in pictures, but it really doesn't do it justice. We had such a great time that we are planning a trip back in over Labor Day. We will be doing another canyoneering trip and I am currently in training for that one. (Don't worry, someone will be hanging out with Caleb at the house...he won't be strapped to my back or anything!)

Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Beautiful! I love the outdoors. Sounds like my kind of vacation.
