5 Month Update

Hello blogging world! Its been a while...my apologies. I know you have all been sitting on the edge of your seats just waiting to hear what is going on in the world of Yerrick. A lot actually, thanks for asking. =) Unfortunately, I don't have enough time to fill you in on it all in this post, but I will give you a little taste with the monthly Caleb update.

We have another first the last few days - the first cold. Yeah, its sad and gross. Caleb's nose is a mess and he hates it when you try to clean it. Listening to him breathe through his snot filled nose is pretty pathetic sounding. He has been a little fussy, but thankfully he hasn't been completely unbearable. He makes this sad sounding groan that will break your heart.

This past month has been a busy one for us all. The most notable change is that Caleb is a rolling over pro! Right after Mother's Day he started rolling over and now as soon as you put him on his back he rolls over. This has created some pretty amusing sleeping habits. He rolls around the crib and then when he comes to a side he pushes off with his feet with his head buried in the mattress. He is all over the place and you never know where you are going to find him when you go in there. He does scoot around either on his back or when he is on his tummy by balancing on his head and pushing off with his legs...yes it is that funny. We are trying to show him by example how to crawl, but he hasn't caught on yet. I am not ready for him to be mobile yet, but I know its bound to happen sooner or later.

He is sitting up pretty good, but his huge head gets too heavy and he either falls over to the side or folds in half. He does try to sit back up when he folds in half and I think he will be able to get himself back up in no time.

Caleb continues to grow like a weed. We were at a promotion ceremony the other day and everyone was commenting how big he is for only being 5 months. Thats our boy! Maybe he is taking after his Uncle Austin. =)

The next few weeks are filled with family - we will be traveling to Vermont for some Yerrick family fun and then Gram and Granddaddy will be heading out to visit at the end of the month.

Stay tuned for all the details.

Check back in the next few days for a report on our AWESOME trip to Zion National Park...
