4 Months

Scooting off his mat
(No he didn't hit his head)
Garrrrr...chewing on his thumb
Another month has gone by and I am still amazed at how quickly time seems to be moving. This month seemed to be a big one and Caleb changed a lot.

The best thing about this month is how vocal he has become. He talks constantly, laughs out loud and will easily let you know how he is feeling by his squeals or cries. It is amazing how such loud noises can come from such a little body. He giggles and smiles except when he is tired or hungry. He really is such a good baby.

He loves being in his exersaucer and is becoming more purposeful with his play. He is starting to understand the cause and effect of his toys. Pushing this plays music, etc. He has gotten much better with tummy time. He rolls over almost every time as soon as we put him down, but sometimes its like he forgets that he can roll over and he just lays there...maybe he is just choosing not to. Who knows. OH AND HE IS ON THE MOVE! Yesterday he was laying on his mat and I was working on some stuff on the computer and when I looked up he had scooted himself underneath of the coffee table! My job is about to get a whole heck of a lot harder.

After months of attempts, Caleb has finally found his thumb. He hasn't taken his pacifier for a few months now and has tried so hard to get his thumb to his mouth, but would normally pull it in right as he got his hand to his mouth. It was pretty amusing for us, but frustrating for him. He isn't really sucking on it though, just chewing on it to help with his teeth. No teeth have broken through yet, but his gums are constantly swollen. I feel sorry for the little man.
The month hasn't been as hard as it started out. We have gotten on a pretty good schedule with him and he is sleeping through the night again. Thank the Lord! For a week or two he was waking up every 4 hours again. Now, pretty much regardless of what time we put him down he is up around 7. We typically put him down around 9 and then he takes 2 good long naps during the day. This schedule has been fantastic and he is happy at night when Nathan comes home from work. When he was waking up every few hours he was so fussy when Nathan would get home which was pretty stessful for all of us. Things are much better now.
We have been enjoying the beautiful spring weather. It may not be green, but it is warm and no humidity! Lots of walks and days at the park. Fantastic.

caleb is so adorable!! so far, this is my FAVORITE age. the rolling over is fun but it has become frustrating for us. kate rolls over in her crib at night and then screams for us to come roll her back over since she gets stuck near her bumper. so i have decided to incorporate those triangle-thingies again(whatever they're called) to keep her from rolling all over the place at night and now she sleeps much better. as do we :) i guess i also need to get a breathable bumper. by the way, i LOVE your hair. love and miss you
